Sam Mahboubian is a Partner in the Banking practice at Linklaters LLP in London. Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2010, he advises on syndicated lending, international banking transactions, corporate finance, leveraged acquisition finance and restructuring matters.

His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, acting for borrowers, lenders, arrangers, sponsors and corporate clients across a range of industries.

Sam Mahboubian advises on syndicated lending, international banking transactions, public and private acquisition finance, pre- and post-IPO financings and leveraged finance transactions. His work also includes restructuring, insolvency matters and the structuring of cross-border financing arrangements and debt products.

Before joining Linklaters, he completed a secondment with Citi's Leveraged Finance team, gaining experience of financing transactions from the perspective of an international financial institution. He has also worked with PwC on matters arising from the administration of Lehman Brothers.

His representative work includes advising Citi and Société Générale on a £5.6 billion acquisition facility relating to Schneider Electric's proposed acquisition of Aveva, advising Barratt Developments on a £900 million bridge facility for its acquisition of Redrow plc, advising Nestlé on a US$4 billion bridge-to-bond facility relating to Starbucks licensing rights, and advising Anglo American plc on a US$2 billion bridge loan and a US$4.5 billion syndicated revolving credit facility. He has also advised on financing transactions involving Helios Towers, Oatly Group and CRH plc.

In 2024, Sam Mahboubian was ranked by Mergerlinks among the Top Ten Financing Lawyers in the EMEA region, placing first in Europe.
